what's in a name?
shakespeare's words still echo: "what's in a name?"
a name is just but a representation of who we are. it is used to differentiate us from others, to identify us and assign a singularity to each one of us. a "ruth" is just a ruth, such as an "eraser" is but a name to refer to that thing we use to delete some useless marks. my philo 1 professor said that there is no meaning to a term, a word, or a name unless u assign a meaning to it. and right now, given my state of mind, i would like to believe him fully.
however hard i try, but still i could not seem to understand that people could afford to do something so stupid and unfitting for their name. "it's how we manage our life that gives meaning to a name" says some thinker i could not point who. but then again, we may be able to manage to acquire great skills, great education, great everything but all these greatness could not warrant that the name would have a good meaning to everyone who hears it being called.
*** do not be hoodwinked by people with commas after their names...
